All things bright and beautiful
All creatures great and small
All things wise and wonderful
The Lord God made them all
Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings
He made their glowing colors,
He made those tiny wings
Ever since I was a small child, probably about 3 years old, I declaimed this poem by Cecil Frances Alexander; and I never forgot a single word of it up to this day. When I got older, I realized that in this poem, the poet describes what the world is to her and how she describes how great God is. That He made a place-- a very nice place, indeed, for us to live in. It shows that by His creation, we realize how awesome He is; from the organization of the tiniest of cells up to the galaxies in the solar system. And God told us to use them properly and take really good care of it. The Earth is our home.
But sometimes our use of the natural resources is neglected. We don't realize that Mother Nature is being harmed by the use of dynamites, poisonous substances, and pollution of land, water, and air. Right now, because of our carelessness in our use of the resources, we are all in great danger. Nature also affects us in every way. From the benefits we get from it, and the benefits that it gets from us. When we harm them, they also harm us. We are stewards of nature. God entrusted us with it and use it for our own needs.
When we cut a tree, we should plant a new tree. When we throw garbage or waste, we must make sure that we should segregate it properly. Yes, we cannot control the weather or the natural calamities, but we can help preventing the flash floods and landslides and other dangers out there by just being good and responsible caretakers of Mother Nature.
♫♪ I see trees of green, red roses too.. I see 'em bloom, for me and you... And I think to myself,
what a wonderful world...
I see skies of blue, clouds of white.. Bright blessed days, dark sacred nights... And I think to myself,
what a wonderful world...
The colors of a rainbow, so pretty in the sky.. Are also on the faces of people going by... I see friends shaking hands, saying, "How do you do?" They're really saying, "I love you"
I hear babies cry, I watch them grow.. They learn much more, than I'll never know... And I think to myself,
what a wonderful world... ♪♫♪
Our world is indeed, wonderful. According to Louis Armstrong, the world is a beautiful place and some people just miss the beauty because they are too busy to sit back, relax, and enjoy the things around them. Louis Armstrong made the lyrics of this song very optimistic and joyful. It tells us to always look forward to tomorrow with optimism and hopefulness. Some people just care about the material things and don't realize the happiness and joyfulness around them. Even rich people, even with their money and all that, can't be happy and they can't even appreciate the blessings that they have. They should be happy and be thankful that they are able to see the beauty in their surroundings and they can see their children grow . This song points out that little things can make a person happy. It's the little things that make life so special and meaningful.
