The Earth Is Our Home

All things bright and beautiful
All creatures great and small
All things wise and wonderful
The Lord God made them all

Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings
He made their glowing colors,
He made those tiny wings

Ever since I was a small child, probably about 3 years old, I declaimed this poem by Cecil Frances Alexander; and I never forgot a single word of it up to this day. When I got older, I realized that in this poem, the poet describes what the world is to her and how she describes how great God is. That He made a place-- a very nice place, indeed, for us to live in. It shows that by His creation, we realize how awesome He is; from the organization of the tiniest of cells up to the galaxies in the solar system. And God told us to use them properly and take really good care of it. The Earth is our home.

But sometimes our use of the natural resources is neglected. We don't realize that Mother Nature is being harmed by the use of dynamites, poisonous substances, and pollution of land, water, and air. Right now, because of our carelessness in our use of the resources, we are all in great danger. Nature also affects us in every way. From the benefits we get from it, and the benefits that it gets from us. When we harm them, they also harm us. We are stewards of nature. God entrusted us with it and use it for our own needs.

When we cut a tree, we should plant a new tree. When we throw garbage or waste, we must make sure that we should segregate it properly. Yes, we cannot control the weather or the natural calamities, but we can help preventing the flash floods and landslides and other dangers out there by just being good and responsible caretakers of Mother Nature.

♫♪ I see trees of green, red roses too.. I see 'em bloom, for me and you... And I think to myself,
what a wonderful world...
I see skies of blue, clouds of white.. Bright blessed days, dark sacred nights... And I think to myself,
what a wonderful world...
The colors of a rainbow, so pretty in the sky.. Are also on the faces of people going by... I see friends shaking hands, saying, "How do you do?" They're really saying, "I love you"
I hear babies cry, I watch them grow.. They learn much more, than I'll never know... And I think to myself,
what a wonderful world... ♪♫♪

Our world is indeed, wonderful. According to Louis Armstrong, the world is a beautiful place and some people just miss the beauty because they are too busy to sit back, relax, and enjoy the things around them. Louis Armstrong made the lyrics of this song very optimistic and joyful. It tells us to always look forward to tomorrow with optimism and hopefulness. Some people just care about the material things and don't realize the happiness and joyfulness around them. Even rich people, even with their money and all that, can't be happy and they can't even appreciate the blessings that they have. They should be happy and be thankful that they are able to see the beauty in their surroundings and they can see their children grow . This song points out that little things can make a person happy. It's the little things that make life so special and meaningful.

My Romeo and Juliet Ending

Romeo and Juliet-- one of the greatest classical stories ever written. One of William Shakespeare's best works in the history of his life. It is a story between two teenage lovers whose families are mortal enemies or rivals of each other. Because of their love for each other, Romeo, the eighteen year old son of the Montague family; and Juliet, the fourteen year old daughter of the Capulet family, were secretly married. The ending of Romeo and Juliet is a very tragic and heartbreaking ending because when Romeo and Juliet committed suicide, that's when the Montagues and Capulets declared peace between their families. Unlike the stories nowadays, this is one of those stories which doesn't have a "happily ever after" ending for the lovers.

My classmates and I absolutely loved the story of Romeo and Juliet. The series of events that Shakespeare put is incredible. You don't know what will happen next, and you will expect the unexpected; from the moment when Romeo and Juliet fell in love with each other up to their death. We all felt the same when we finished the story-- if only we could kill their parents! It is so annoying, and heartbreaking, and, and, asdfjklasdk, I can't explain the feeling! If I were asked and given an opportunity to change the ending, I would put a "happily ever after". I want it to be like this:

When Friar Lawrence sent the letter to Romeo via Friar John, Romeo didn't get the letter. But when Balthasar told Romeo that Juliet is dead, Romeo and Balthasar immediately left, bought poison from an apothecary, and went to Verona. Meanwhile in the graveyard, Paris was there with his servant. Then Paris heard a noise and left right away (he got scared of the noise). The noise turned out to be Friar Lawrence (he was hiding behind the bushes)-- who was going to get Juliet out of the grave. A few minutes later, Romeo arrived and wept over Juliet's grave. Because of his great sadness, and thinking that Juliet is dead, Romeo held the bottle of poison; and when he was about to drink it, Friar Lawrence stopped him. He explained everything that they have planned-- about the potion, and Juliet being "dead" for forty-two hours. After explaining all these things to Romeo, Romeo's face enlightened with happiness and hope. After a while, they heard a noise from the Juliet's grave. Friar Lawrence told Romeo to get Juliet and escape to a very far place that their parents would think they wouldn't have been. Then Friar Lawrence gave them a potion that will make them look very different from their faces as their disguises. This potion will last for 34 hours. Romeo and Juliet bid farewell to Friar Lawrence and they followed his instructions carefully. When they got to the place where they are not known, they stayed there. After a year, they had children. And Romeo and Juliet lived happily ever after.
The End.

My Friend, My Treasure

Old memories are coming back to me
They're making me feel truly happy
Each little memory I treasure dearly
For they are about you, a person I cherish so deeply.

In my sleepless solitude tonight
I can't seem to keep you off of my mind
Memories of you are shining like a light
I want to hug you with all my might

There are a lot of things with which I am blessed
Though my life's been both sunny and blue
But of all my blessings, this one is the best:
That is, to have a friend like you.

In times of trouble will say, "Just ask... I'll help you through it."
But you don't wait for me to ask; you just get up and do it!
I can't think of anything in life that I could more wisely do
Than know a friend, and be a friend, and treasure one... like you.

What Makes Life Good

"Having a place to go - is a home.  Having someone to love - is a family.  Having both - is a blessing."
~ Donna Hedges

What is a family? Well, Google says that family is the basic social unit of the society; that family represents people living together by ties of marriage, blood, or adaptation. But for me, they can be not only your parents, they are also the people who are dear, important, and those who take good care of you. People who are always there to support, love you and help you in times of need. You stay together in spite of the all the problems in life.

In this point of view, the family is the group of members who consists of the most important people in our lives. And people who have no families are always lonely because there is no one who is taking care of them. Family is someone you can hold on to. You trust them, they trust you. Having a family makes your life complete. Some have the 'I-don't-care' attitude when it comes to family; but they don't know that those people are the ones who'll support them 'til the end.

Having a family is the greatest blessing you have. Like I said, some don't have one and they are lonely, so treasure your families. They are the ones who can understand you and fight for you.  Just be grateful you have one. I can compare family to gold, they are hard to find yet they are precious and many people treasure them. So love your families and cherish your moments with them while they are still living here in Earth; because the time will come when you're gonna say goodbye...

One of the good things of life that God has given is the family. Parents and children, aunts and uncles, grandparents, and even friends are God's way of making us feel that we have a special place in the world, somewhere that we belong.

"The family.  We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together."  ~ Erma Bombeck
